Cale Makar hasn't gotten much of a break this season after playing 80 games for the Colorado Avalanche, and then going on to play another four games during the 4 Nations Face-Off for Team Canada in February.
After having a nice week off to prepare for the upcoming playoff run against the Dallas Stars, Cale Makar issued a statement on he is feeling heading into the playoff series.
Makar Issues A Statement Ahead of Game One
«I'm feeling good,» Makar told ClutchPoints in an exclusive interview on Wednesday afternoon. «It's obviously been a long year, especially for guys that went to 4 Nations, you don't really get too much of a break, so it's been pretty tough.
«You want to make sure you're ready to go going into playoffs, I think everybody's getting there. It's just nice to have this little break here before, make sure everybody is dialed in and ready to go.»
Besides having some much needed time to rest and relax, he also had the chance to go and watch his brother Taylor Makar, who recently signed his Entry-Level deal with the Colorado Avalanche, play in the AHL with the Colorado Eagles. He had this to say about it:
«It's awesome to be able to have him here,» Makar said. «Really nice to be able to watch him this weekend and see a couple of games, it's the first time I've watched him live in a long time. He's definitely got all the intangibles, it's just once he puts them all together I think he's going to have a great career.»
The Colorado Avalanche have an upper hand entering tonight's game against the Dallas Stars.
During their final regular season game of the year, the Stars opted to not rest any of their top players, and ended up also losing Jason Robertson. He is now being listed as week-to-week and it's unclear if he is going to be good to play at all throughout this first series.
