It's almost a given at this point, Cale Makar is a bonafide superstar on the Colorado Avalanche blue line, a fact that's been echoed time and time again across the NHL.

Makar captured the 2024-25 Norris Trophy on Wednesday, further cementing his legacy as one of the NHL's elite defenseman.

Recent report makes a wild statement concerning Cale Makar

Graham Tiedtke from Mile High Sticking writes that Makar's second Norris Trophy leads him one step closer to achieving his mark as a Hall of Famer.
"Makar led all defensemen in points with 92 as well as goals (30) and assists (62). The second closest to those point totals was Zach Werenski with 82. Werenski finished second in goals by a defenseman (23). That shows how dominant of an offensive defenseman Makar is-leading second place by seven goals. Makar missed two games while Werenski missed one and played 109 more minutes that Makar." -Tiedtke

Makar became just the sixth defenseman in NHL history to win the Norris Trophy twice within his first six seasons, and only the 14th to capture the award multiple times over the course of a career.
"Makar's Hall of Fame trajectory is skyrocketing year by year. An NHL Hall of Fame defenseman, Chris Pronger, even acknowledged Makar's greatness back in March. That's something that isn't a huge surprise, but it is still quite noteworthy. It's one thing to be recognized as the greatest by the average person. It's another thing to be recognized as one of the best by one of the best in the league's history." -Tiedtke

Makar's brilliance continues to drive the Avalanche forward, and there's no indication of him losing momentum anytime soon. Opposing teams constantly have to account for his presence, and watching his game evolve night after night is nothing short of a privilege. At just 26 years old, Makar's prime is still ahead of him, and Avalanche fans can look forward to many more seasons of elite-level dominance.
