Cale Makar is just on another level this year. During a recent matchup he made some more history as he set a new franchise record for the Colorado Avalanche.
The Colorado Avalanche are easily a Stanley Cup contender, although some reporters believe that their defense and goaltending may be a problem for them when they enter the playoffs, but their offense is stacked.
Colorado probably has one of the deepest forward cores in the NHL this year after Chris MacFarland went out during the NHL trade deadline and absolutely stacked the team with experience and talent.
Adding players like Martin Necas, Brock Nelson and Charlie Coyle to the mix when you already have Nathan MacKinnon and Cale Makar, they are definitely going to be a scary team this post-season.
Just a couple of days ago, Cale Makar made NHL history whenever he scored his 30th goal of the year becoming the first defenseman to do this since Mike Green did back in the 2008-09 season.
Now Makar made some more history as he set a new franchise record with the Colorado Avalanche, and there is a video of it.
Makar Stuns Fans Again After Setting New Franchise Record
On Saturday, the Colorado Avalanche faced off against the St. Louis Blues, and found themselves down 4-0 mid-way through the second period before they started to make a comeback.
Cale Makar helped the Avalanche try to push to make a comeback as he picked up a point, being his 91st point of the season and set a new franchise record.
Makar became the first defenseman in Avalanche history to record 91 points, and there is a video of the play it happened on.

This season, Makar has set new career highs in goals (30), and points (91) in just 78 games this season.
Makar has just 4 games to try and get 9 points to hit 100, which would be another historic milestone.
