Insider reveals massive update concerning Sidney Crosby and his future with the Avalanche
An insider has revealed a significant update regarding Pittsburgh Penguins star forward Sidney Crosby and his possible future with the Colorado Avalanche, as trade rumours continue to circulate around the league.
Montreal,
Colorado, and Los Angeles are reportedly frontrunners in landing
Crosby.
Massive update concerning Crosby's NHL future.
A recent report from The Times of India writes that Crosby has been the face of the Penguins for nearly two decades, but the latest trade rumours suggest that it all may be coming to an end.
Despite being under contract through the 2026-27 season, Crosby's future is once again under heavy speculation, especially with the Montreal Canadiens and Colorado Avalanche as serious contenders.
NHL insider Greg Wyshynski of ESPN recently added fuel to the trade rumours by predicting that if the Penguins struggle early in the upcoming season, Crosby will likely be moved by the deadline.
NHL insider Frank Seravalli also had to this say concerning which teams would be willing to trade for Crosby.
"I think there's been some teams, or a short list, Montreal, LA Kings, Avalanche, those are the teams have been talked about, but he hasn't shown any interest...in moving." -Seravalli
The Avalanche connection stems from Crosby's tight friendship with
Nathan MacKinnon. The hometown buds recently led Team Canada to victory at the 4 Nations Face-Off last February, reigniting buzz about the possibility of joining MacKinnon in Colorado to end his career.
Despite the rising trade buzz, Crosby has remained focused on his upcoming season with the Penguins.
"I just try to prepare for the next one [season]." -Crosby
But with the Penguins facing a likely rebuild, Crosby's future may no longer be as secure as it once was.
