Greer's chant sparked backlash and tons of online debate.

Former Avalanche star sparks massive controversy with nasty comments.

The Panthers sealed their championship Tuesday night with a dominant 5-1 victory over the Oilers in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final. With back-to-back titles now secured, there's no denying it, South Florida has firmly established itself as a hockey town.
Yardbarker reports that the Stanley Cup made another beachside appearance Wednesday morning, and so did the celebration. The Panthers marked their second straight championship in true South Florida style, showing up with the Cup at the iconic Elbo Room on Fort Lauderdale Beach at around 8:30am.
"Not every headline, though, was of beer and triumph. AJ Greer caused a stir when he grabbed the microphone at the Elbo Room and shouted 'F*** the Oilers!' to a crowd hungry for more." -Yardbarker
The video quickly went viral, sparking mixed reactions, some slammed it as classless, while others saw it as just part of the celebration.
A.J. Greer was a Colorado second round draft-pick in 2015 and played three seasons with the Avalanche before being dealt to the New York Islanders in 2020.
The festivities rolled on until 12:20pm, when players started leaving via golf carts but got caught in traffic on the Las Olas Bridge. Undeterred, they kept the energy alive, taking photos with fans proudly hoisting the Cup.
The team is set to be officially honoured with a victory parade in Fort Lauderdale on Sunday night.
