Did the Avalanche sign the wrong guy? Hockey analyst thinks so and has some harsh words for the organization

Kadri anchored Colorado's second-line throughout the Avalanche's Stanley Cup championship run in 2022.

Instead, the Avalanche let Kadri walk that offseason and chose to ink a 7-year, $49 million deal with the Calgary Flames.

Despite signing veteran center Brock Nelson to a 3-year contract extension, Steve Dangle and Jesse Blake didn't hold back and blasted the Avalanche for their wrongdoing on a recent episode of The Steve Dangle Podcast.

Dangle also weighed in to the conversation expressing how Colorado has yet been able to find a legitimate replacement, even after Nelson's extension.

Since Kadri left in the summer of 2022, Colorado has gone through a revolving door of second-line centers. They traded for Ryan Johansen before the 2023-24 season, and when that didn't work out, they managed to trade for Casey Mittelstadt. This was finally followed by the Avs acquiring Nelson and trading Mittelstadt, so hopefully third times the charm.

Looking back at everything, Blake believes that Colorado would have been in better hands with Kadri on their team. I'm willing to bet that the Avalanche are definitely regretting their decision till this day.
