Dallas Stars had a loss of words for a former Colorado Avalanche forward on Friday

Oilers goaltender Stuart Skinner made 25 saves and recorded his fourth career playoff shutout, while former Colorado Avalanche forward Mikko Rantanen was nowhere to be seen all game.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Brett Kulak, and Connor Brown were the goal scorers for the Oilers.

Down 3-0 in the third period, the Stars faced the challenge of mounting a comeback without one of their key forwards available.

Despite a poor game from Rantanen and company, Stars' forward Roope Hintz left the game early in the third period after taking a dirty slash from Oilers defenceman Darnell Nurse.

An atheltic trainer came out to assess Hintz, who remained down on the ice for a few minutes before being helped off the ice. He avoided putting weight on his left foot as teammates Mikael Granlund and Lian Bichsel supported him to the bench. From there, Hintz made his way down the tunnel to the Stars' locker room.

Mikko Rantanen and the rest of the Dallas Stars' will need to find a way to get past Stuart Skinner who registered his third shutout of the postseason on Friday.

Game 3 will go Sunday at 1:00pm MT in Edmonton.
