Despite a poor game from Rantanen and company, Stars' forward Roope Hintz left the game early in the third period after taking a dirty slash from Oilers defenceman Darnell Nurse.
Darnell Nurse took a hack at Roope Hintz and Hintz needed help getting off the ice 🤕
The play was reviewed and Nurse got 2 minutes for slashing
An atheltic trainer came out to assess Hintz, who remained down on the ice for a few minutes before being helped off the ice. He avoided putting weight on his left foot as teammates Mikael Granlund and Lian Bichsel supported him to the bench. From there, Hintz made his way down the tunnel to the Stars' locker room.
Here's what Stars' head coach had to say following Nurse's slash...
"Does anyone in this room think if Connor McDavid gets carried off the ice like that, it's not a five-minute major?"
Peter DeBoer on Darnell Nurse receiving a minor penalty for slashing Roope Hintz.
Mikko Rantanen and the rest of the Dallas Stars' will need to find a way to get past Stuart Skinner who registered his third shutout of the postseason on Friday.
