The NHL Just Issued A Major Announcement Regarding Avalanche's Cale Makar And It's Confirmed

No one, including Jared Bednar, should be surprised that defenseman Cale Makar is in the running for the Norris Trophy during the 2024-2025 season.
At this point in the 2024-2025 NHL season, the Avalanche's Cale Makar leads all defensemen in goals and assists.
It's not even the end of the season, and he's positioned himself as a top Norris Trophy candidate. Something he's not a stranger to, for the last four seasons, he's found himself in the top three in voting for the Trophy.
Makar has already secured it once in 2022 when the Avalanche won their last Stanley Cup against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Are he and the team poised to run it back and win a cup again?
Makar has 92 points (30 goals, 62 assists) and has become the ninth defenseman in NHL history after scoring a goal in their decisive 7-3 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets.
"It's a great stat but definitely not getting there without these guys," Makar said of his teammates. "It's a lot of effort from them getting me the puck and getting my chances, a couple of them
At the moment, he looks like he's set to win as he's leading Norris Trophy voting with 78 points.
Makar is the favorite again this season, and the voting is based on a sixteen-person panel from NHL.com.
Could this be another year where we see Makar take home a cup and a Norris Trophy? He's already secured another record as he's the first defenseman to score consecutive 90-point seasons in the NHL since Paul Coffey (1988-89,1990-91) and Al MacInnis (1989-90, 1990-91)
