A new report has unveiled a blockbuster trade that sees the Boston Bruins landing Colorado Avalanche star forward Martin Necas in a stunning move ahead of the upcoming season.

Reports suggest Necas has been dissatisfied with his experience in Colorado since being traded by the Carolina Hurricanes last February.

Bruins reportedly interested in acquiring Martin Necas.

Cole Shelton from Heavy.com writes that the Bruins are aiming to return to the playoffs this season, but to do so, they'll need to bolster their offensive firepower. A recent report proposes a blockbuster trade that involves the Bruins landing Necas from the Avalanche to address that need.
The proposed trade has the Bruins acquiring Necas in return for Pavel Zacha and a 2027 first-round pick.
"The proposed deal would be a blockbuster as Colorado and Boston would swap NHL forwards who could both use a change of scenery, while the Bruins give up a first-round pick they got in the Brad Marchand deal." -Shelton

Necas, who arrived in Colorado as part of last season's blockbuster trade involving Mikko Rantanen, could now be on the move again. Entering the final year of his two-year, $13 million contract, Necas has reportedly been unhappy with his situation in Colorado, prompting his name to resurface in trade discussions.
A deal to the Bruins would make sense; Boston is in need of a top-line scoring threat, and Necas would immediately inject skill and offensive firepower. He's coming off a career-best season, tallying 28 goals and 56 assists for a total of 83 points.
In this proposed trade, the Bruins would send a first-round pick along with Zacha to the Avalanche in exchange for Necas. Zacha, who has two years remaining on a four-year, $19 million contract, would provide Colorado with some lineup stability, especially valuable with Necas potentially leaving in free agency next summer.
Zacha posted 14 goals and 33 assists for 47 points across a full 82-game season, and he could slide into a middle-six role to help offset Necas' departure.
