With Martin Necas possibly being traded again this offseason, William James of Philly Hockey Now suggests the Philadelphia Flyers could be a strong contender to land him.

Necas, who joined the Colorado Avalanche as part of the blockbuster trade involving Mikko Rantanen, could already be on the move again as he explores a potential new destination.

James Wilson from NHL Trade Rumors writes that Sportsnet's Nick Kypreos reports that the Czech forward is "not overly thrilled" with his situation in Colorado. With only one year remaining on his $6.5 million contract, the Avalanche could be compelled to consider trade options if negotiations for an extension don't gain traction.
Necas tallied 83 points last season while splitting duties between Carolina and Colorado, showcasing his ability to contribute both as a winger and a center. His play-driving skills and scoring touch make him an intriguing option for a Flyers team still in need of a bona fide top-line center.
"William James speculates that Philadelphia could be interested in converting him back to center, where he was originally drafted. The risk? His faceoff struggles (a career 41% success rate). But as James points out, it may be a risk worth taking, especially with Necas craving a starring role that he hasn't found in Carolina or Colorado." -Wilson

The Flyers not only have the cap flexibility but also the long-term vision to position Necas as a foundational piece. He'd join Travis Konecny and Matvei Michkov as a key figure in the team's rebuild, offering the kind of prominence and leadership role that could appeal to Necas as he looks to cement his place in the league.
"James outlines a few paths Philly could take to acquire Necas. A package might start with winger Owen Tippett or Tyson Foerster, a first-round pick, and one of the Flyers' young defensemen like Emil Andrae or Egor Zamula. Philadelphia could also ease Colorado's cap crunch by taking on a contract like Josh Manson's ($4.5M). If the trade is done post-July 1, including Rasmus Ristolainen with 50% salary retention becomes a realistic option." -Wilson
With only 12 forwards under contract and a limited cap space, the Avalanche are in a tight spot, opening the door for Philadelphia to make a move. If Necas is set on playing center and Colorado can't offer him the deal he's looking for, the Flyers could quickly emerge as frontrunners in the race for his services.
