Fans left stunned as Colorado Avalanche divisional rival Utah Mammoth receives crushing news about the future of top forward prospect Caleb Desnoyers.

Desnoyers, 18, was selected fourth overall by the Mammoth in June's NHL Entry Draft.

Mammoth top prospect Caleb Desnoyers hit with devastating news.

TSN reports that the 6-foot-2 centre spent last season with the Moncton Wildcats of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, finishing tied for fifth in league scoring with 35 goals and 84 points over 56 games.
He helped guide the Wildcats to the league's best record at 53-9-2, captured the Gilles-Courteau Trophy as league champion, and represented the QMJHL at the Memorial Cup.
"Desnoyers finished second in playoff scoring with nine goals and 30 points in 19 games and won the Guy Lafleur Trophy as the QMJHL playoff MVP.

The Saint-Hyacinthe, Que., native was named as captain of the Wildcats in June, but has not made a decision about a possible jump to the NCAA or returning to the QMJHL." -TSN.ca

Utah selected Desnoyers fourth overall after finishing last season with a 38-31-13 record and climbing 10 spots in the draft lottery to secure the pick.
While Desnoyers' promising rookie season has been temporarily delayed due to injury, his dedication to recovery and his natural talent suggest he'll return stronger than ever.
The Mammoth and their fans are eager to see him back on the ice, ready to continue building on the impressive foundation he established last season. If he can fully recover, Desnoyers has the potential to become a cornerstone for Utah's future and a key player in the league for years to come.
