Recent reports from trusted insider Elliotte Friedman, reveals top goaltender from the University of Denver is in high demand as several NHL teams are battling to acquire him.
Currently, the 23-year old is focused on getting ready to protect the crease for the Pioneers as they go for their third NCAA Championship in four years. However, according to Elliotte Friedman, once that's over there will be a ton of NHL teams looking to secure him.
«There are teams looking at him, and the more they win, the more eyes get on him and the more people start to look at him, so there will be competition. Some of these teams that lost out on Tung are going to go to (Davis) and say, 'Ok he's the next option, we're going to take a look at him.»
Davis had an incredible season during the NCAA Tournament, making miraculous saves in the 2024 Frozen Four, stopping 67 of 68 shots in Denver's run to their 10th national championship. Throughout the tournament he posted a crazy .979 save percentage.
Davis, 23, has posted a 29-9-1 record this season with the Pioneers, with a .923 save percentage and 2.07 goals against average. In his four years at Denver, he's 63-16-4 with a .921 Sv%.
One team that we know was trying to sign Callum Tung was the Calgary Flames. Perhaps they will be one of the teams looking very hard at Davis.
