Colorado Avalanche's head coach Jared Bednar had some high praise for his team, as he spoke out once the Avalanche clinched the playoffs.

The Colorado Avalanche ended up clinching their spot in the 2025 NHL playoffs after dominating the Columbus Blue Jackets and beating them 7-3 during a back-to-back where they beat, and faced the Blackhawks the night before.
Cale Makar made some NHL history the exact same night that the Avalanche ended up clinching the playoffs, as Makar became the first NHL defenseman to score 30 goals in a single season since Mike Green did so in the 2008-09 season.
After hitting this milestone, and making some NHL history, Cale Makar sent a special message to his teammates stating that he wouldn't have been able to do it without them.
Take a look:
«It's a great stat, but I definitely wouldn't have reached it without these guys,» Makar said. «It's a lot of effort from them getting me the puck and giving me chances.»

Jared Bednar With High Praise For His Team

Just like Makar, head coach Jared Bednar also had some high praise for his team even after facing some setbacks.
Before their playoff clinching game, the Avalanche went down a couple of key forwards in Jonathan Drouin, and Martin Necas, but the team dug and came together to clinch their spot, and Bednar had some high praise for them.
According to NHL.com, Bednar stated that the Avs are super happy they secured their playoff spot:
«We're obviously really happy that we secured that (playoff) spot."

He continued;

«That's the first step and the first goal that you set in training camp. It takes a long time to get here and a lot of hard work, but I'm proud of our guys for accomplishing that-especially under tough circumstances, coming in here tonight on a back-to-back.»

The Avalanche have some things they need to clean up before heading into the playoffs, one big one is learning how to hold onto leads, but there is definitely a feeling that they have the team to go on another run for the Stanley Cup this year.
