Avalanche star Martin Necas sparks major headlines in latest development

In the past, star forward Martin Necas can be seen as undervalued through his contracts and his role on a team. With the Colorado Avalanche however, that may all change as he eyes an extension in the near future.
The Colorado Avalanche prove to be a team that fits all the needs Necas is looking for, and a full season with the organization looks to be promising.
Martin Necas strives for the recognition he has been longing for with the Avalanche.
Katie Barlett of Mile High Sticking spoke on Necas' career and how after many years of being in the wrong place, he may finally be in the right one.
"Martin Necas has waited a long time to be in the driver's seat of his contract negotiations. All his previous three signings had him at a disadvantage. This season, as he contemplates whether to extend now with the Colorado Avalanche or wait and see what the season holds, he can aim for a contract that he feels reflects the value that he brings to the team." -Barlett
The biggest setback Necas has faced so far was with his former team, the Carolina Hurricanes. The Hurricanes play a defence-first, low-risk, low-reward system that just doesn't fit Necas' playing style.
He thrives in a creative, offensive, and risk-taking team, and he finally has that in Colorado. With how fast the Avalanche are, they can afford to take more chances while minimizing the risk of the play going the other way.
Necas will also experience more playing time with the Avalanche, alongside top power play minutes with two of the best players in the world in Nathan MacKinnon and Cale Makar.

We all know how levels can be raised for players when they are in a contract year, and we should expect no different from Necas.
The Avalanche should look to extend him soon in the early parts of the season because it is likely his value will sky rocket with time. They can lock up an elite winger for eight years at a good price if they don't hesitate.
