Avalanche on edge after NHL insider reveals Kaprizov's fate in Minnesota

The Colorado Avalanche are on edge after an NHL insider revealed new details about the future of superstar forward Kirill Kaprizov with their divisional rival, the Minnesota Wild, leaving fans and analysts eager to see how it could impact the upcoming season.
The Wild are hoping to steer clear of any more contract drama after reports surfaced that Kaprizov turned down an 8-year, $128 million offer.
Insider may have just leaked Kirill Kaprizov's future with the Wild.
Justin Lynch from The Sporting News writes that with the Wild still working to finalize a deal with their franchise player, time is running out to reach an agreement before the season begins.
Minnesota is determined to reach a solution quickly, as both sides remain actively engaged in ongoing negotiations.
"The longer time passes without an agreement found, trade talks will persist surrounding the Russian star as teams monitor what is going on with the contract situation. Unfortunately for those interested parties, this latest update may put a damper on those dreams." -Lynch
According to insider Frank Seravalli, there is "zero chance" that the Wild put Kaprizov on the trade block. The team has no interest in trade discussions, remaining fully focused on securing a contract with their star player and not entertaining any offers for their prized asset.
"This bad news for teams like the New York Rangers and Chicago Blackhawks who have been heavily linked to the stud player. On the other hand this will allow Minnesota Wild fans to breathe a little easier as they navigate nervous organizational times waiting on good news with respect to their top player." -Lynch
Kaprizov has expressed that he enjoys playing in Minnesota. The real question is what term and salary will work for his extension, and when that deal will be finalized. The answer should be coming soon.
