Coby Maier from NHL.com writes that Toews also set new career highs with four-game winning goals and two overtime winners. Impressively, 41 of his 44 points (9 goals, 32 assists) came at even strength, marking his fourth straight season with at least 40 even-strength points.
Among the 16 defenseman who averaged 20 or more minutes of even-strength ice time per game this season, his +29 on-ice even-strength goal differential ranked highest in the NHL. In the playoffs, he added four points (1 goal, 3 assists) over seven games.
"Both of Toews' overtime-winning goals came at home against teams from New York State in the month of January. On January 2nd, he scored a breakaway goal to complete an epic comeback against the Buffalo Sabres in a 6-5 victory. Just 12 days later, Toews scored via a right-circle one-timer in a 3-2 win against the New York Rangers." -Maier
Toews recorded seven multi-point games during the regular season, including four performances with three points, and the Avalanche won all of them, going 7-0-0 in those matchups.
"A model of consistency, Toews has registered five-consecutive campaigns of at least 50 games played along with a plus-minus rating of +25 or better. That is the longest such streak in franchise history and the longest by any NHLer since Brad McCrimmon from 1984-95 to 1988-89." -Maier

This season marked Toews' debut representing Canada on the international stage, as he took part in the 4 Nations Face-Off. He appeared in all four games and played a key role in helping Team Canada secure the championship title.
Heading into the 2025-26 season, Toew has six years left on his current contract. He is also approaching a pair of significant career milestones, just 27 games away from reaching 500 and 22 points shy of hitting the 300-point mark.
