The Colorado Avalanche are entering a pivotal season, with expectations to dominate the Central Division, and for a roster this talented, anything short of a Stanley Cup could be viewed as a disappointment.

The expectations are quite high this season for the team and the head office, and on paper, the Avalanche are a hard team to beat.

Nothing less than a Stanley Cup will do for the Colorado Avalanche this season.

Ryan Womeldorf of The Hockey Writers highlighted just how strong the Colorado Avalanche appear to be heading into the season - and with that talent comes mounting pressure and lofty expectations. He shared several bold predictions for the year, beginning with how the team should fare within their division.
"If the Avalanche grab an early lead in the Central Division, the other teams will be hard-pressed to pry it from them. The Avalanche remember all too well how tough it is to play a team like the Stars while ceding home ice, and they won't be too keen to go through it again. Their path to playoff success will hinge on capturing the division and home ice in the first round." -Womeldorf

The Central Division could easily be the toughest in the NHL this season. With powerhouse teams like the Stars and Jets battling the Avalanche for the top spot, and an up-and-coming Mammoth team poised to steal valuable points, Colorado will have their work cut out for them.
Securing home ice for at least the first two rounds of the playoffs by winning the division will be a top priority.
With MacKinnon and Makar in their prime - not to mention the latter playing for an even bigger payday than he's already due - this may be the best chance for the Avalanche to hoist the Stanley Cup since they won it in 2022. In the ultra-tough Central Division, they will have their work cut out for them, but they have the top-to-bottom talent to get the job done." -Litman

There's no debating it, the Avalanche boast their most complete roster since capturing the Stanley Cup three years ago.
With two of the best players in the world, promising depth talent, and dependable goaltending, this team is built to win.
Anything short of another Stanley Cup would be considered a failure.
