A major announcement changes things for the Colorado Avalanche-Dallas Stars playoff series
The Dallas Stars have received promising news ahead of Game 4 against the Colorado Avalanche, as Peter DeBoer gave us an update on Miro Heiskanen.
The
Dallas Stars may get some reinforcements soon, as Head Coach Peter DeBoer gave us an update on defenseman Miro Heiskanen.
NHL Insider Pierre LeBrun.
«DeBoer says same lineup for Stars tonight. Heiskanen remains out but Stars coach says 'he's getting closer.'»
Due to a knee injury, Heiskanen hasn't played an NHL game since January 28th. He'd score only 25 points (5 goals, 20 assists) in 50 games in 2024-2025. He'd bolster the team's blue line, which right now is sorely missing his presence.
Not exactly the elite defenseman Dallas is typically known for, given their roster, which features
Thomas Harley, who went on a heater last season.
The
Avalanche needs to take advantage of the Stars' roster without their top performers in the lineup.
«I mean our season [was] on the line, let's be honest,'' DeBoer said. «We got away with it [an 0-2 deficit] last year in the first series against Vegas. But you're probably not going to go to that well again this year and come up winning. So we knew our season was on the line.''
The Avalanche will again need to keep pushing them to the brink instead of letting them get settled into the series.
Heiskanen has been skating recently for the team, and has yet to be medically cleared. If Bednar has any sense he'll find a way to suppress the offensive firepower Heiskanen typically has on the blue line, and the power-play.
The Dallas Stars lead the series 2-1, and the Avalanche cannot afford to let them lead any longer.
The Stars own the playoff series lead against the Avalanche 4-2.
