NHL insider reveals three Colorado Avalanche players who are expected to sign contract extensions with the organization during the offseason.

As the 2025 NHL Trade Deadline saw several organizations make drastic changes, the league including the Avalanche look completely different.
Now that the deadline is passed, there won't be anymore major trades until the offseason. But with that being said, we could also see the Avalanche sign their newly acquired additions to contract extensions.

Three players the Colorado Avalanche will be looking to secure long-term this offseason

First on the list would be veteran forward Brock Nelson, as the Avalanche gave up quite a bit to acquire Nelson from the New York Islanders, and with the way he's been fitting in with organization it's likely that they will want to keep the forward around beyond this season.
The 33-year old forward is a pending unrestricted free agent, and has been a very impactful scorer over his last few seasons. Since joining the Avs, Nelson has managed to tally 8 points (3 G, 5A) in just 11 games played.
Next up would be Jonathan Drouin who is having an another incredible season with the Avalanche, tallying 11 goals and 26 assists for a total of 37 points throughout just 41 games played.
Drouin has managed to reach his full potential since joining the Avalanche last season, as he posted a career high of 56 points (19 G, 37A) in 79 games played. However, the 30-year old forward is rightfully expecting a raise on his current $2.5M cap hit.
The finally player on the list being Ryan Lindgren, the 27-year old defenseman could be another player who the Avalanche might look to sign to an extension before July 1.
The Avalanche just recently acquired the pending unrestricted free agent from the New York Rangers before the deadline, in a trade which saw Calvin de Haan and Juuso Pärssinen be sent to the Rangers.
Since joining the Avs, Lindgren has fit in nicely on the back end with Malinski. In just 13 games he has managed to tally 2 goals and 1 assists while averaging just under 19 minutes of ice time per game.
