We have recalled Kevin Mandolese from the Colorado Eagles.
The Colorado Avalanche dealing with a injured goaltender just moments before playoffs?
Since the announcement was made that Mandolese was recalled from the Colorado Eagles, there has been some speculation in the fan base that one of Blackwood, or Wedgewood could be dealing with an injury, as this is now the second time this month that he has been recalled.
It could mean one of two things, either one of Wedgewood, or Blackwood are dealing with an injury, or that the Avalanche want to head into playoffs with goaltenders, just to be on the safe side if any injuries occur.
Mandolese was originally drafted by the Ottawa Senators in the 6th round of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft witht he 157th overall pick, and has appeared in 3 NHL games.
All three games came with the Ottawa Senators back in the 2022-23 season where he had a 1-2-0 record with a 3.30 GAA, and a .916 SV%.
Since then he has yet to see NHL action but that could certainly change at anytime.
