The Central Division may soon be forever changed by the Avalanche

The Colorado Avalanche sit among the NHL's Central Division elites like the Stars and Jets, but if they fix their weaknesses, they could easily claim the division crown.
All three teams are poised to be serious contenders this NHL season.
Stars and Jets' weakness could lead to Avalanche on top of the Central.
Nestor Quixtan of Mile High Sticking took a deeper look at the Central Division, and while the Stars and Jets are among the upper tier of the league, they still have weaknesses and potential regressions.
"While I'm not advocating for the Jets to miss the playoffs, they could regress. The loss of Nikolaj Ehlers could hold them back. Then, there is the Dallas Stars. The Stars are absolutely loaded. This team is among the favorites to win the Stanley Cup in some books. I can certainly see why. But all things being equal, there's one variable the Stars have modified from one year to another: Their head coach. The debacle that resulted in the Stars' playoff exit prompted the team to move on from Peter DeBoer." -Quixtan
Not only will the Avalanche have to deal with those two powerhouses, but two emerging dark horses as well.
"The Jets and Stars are not the only tough clubs the Colorado Avalanche will face in the Central Division. Two emerging teams, the St. Louis Blues and Utah Mammoth, could be the biggest challengers the Colorado Avalanche could face." -Quixtan
The Central Division could very well prove to be the best division in hockey. Fortunately for the Avalanche, they are built to withstand the toughest teams in the league. If all goes as intended, the Avalanche are likely to end up on top of the Central.
