Although the Colorado Avalanche opening night roster is pretty much set, a recent report reveals that fans still demand serious help at the bottom-six center position ahead of next season.

Rumours continue to spread that Avalanche GM Chris MacFarland still has another big move up his sleeve this summer.

Fans demand further roster changes in Colorado.

Adran Hernandez from Mile High Sticking writes that Avalanche fans are outraged and calling for significant improvements to the team's bottom-six forward group ahead of opening night against the Los Angeles Kings.
"The Avalanche have been pretty busy this offseason, but most of their work has been inspired by logistical necessity rather than improvement. You don't get improvement without proper cap construction, so I see this as the calm before the storm for the Avalanche, who have proven to be ready and willing to pull the trigger on a big trade." -Hernandez

According to the poll, fans overwhelmingly feel that, despite a handful of moves, the Avalanche are essentially "the same team" they were prior to the start of free agency.
The bottom six is usually one of the easier areas to address from a financial standpoint, so it should only be a matter of time before those roster spots are filled, assuming that's the direction the Avalanche intent to take. Ideally, the team would target a player in the mold of Andrew Cogliano: a dependable penalty killer with grit, experience, and strong leadership qualities.
"This next poll comes in response to Chris MacFarland's comments about Jack Drury potentially filling the 3C role come opening night. I find that hard to believe, but if that is the intention, the Avalanche need another 4C since we know how little they promote from within. That said, I agree with the fans who say that Jack Drury is your elite 4C, and 3C is still the most glaring missing piece to the puzzle." -Hernandez
A few familiar names have been floated as potential fits, one of them being former Avalanche fan favourite and Stanley Cup champion J.T. Compher.
Compher took his talents to Detroit but hasn't quite found the same groove there as he once had during his time in Colorado.
