The Colorado Avalanche just unveiled their 2025-26 regular season schedule, slated to kick-off their campaign on Tuesday, October 7, with a road matchup against the Los Angeles Kings.
Two days later, the Avalanche are set to host their home opener at Ball Arena, taking on the newly rebranded
Utah Mammoth.
Avalanche's latest announcement has fans buzzing.
Evan Liu from Hockey Mountain High writes that the newly-names Utah Mammoth will cross the Rocky Mountains to make their first appearance at Ball Arena this upcoming season.
"Colorado's longest homestand will come throughout January, playing seven straight games on home ice. It'll start against the Ottawa Senators on Thursday, January 8, and end on Friday, January 23, against the Philadelphia Flyers." -Liu
Meanwhile, the Avalanche won't face any road trips longer than four games throughout the season. They're slated for three separate four-game swings away from home, in early December, late January, and mid-March.
"Colorado did get unfortunate scheduling again when it came to back-to-back games. They are scheduled for 10 back-to-backs throughout the season, all of which they're traveling to and from different arenas and cities." -Liu
Colorado will wrap up its regular season, and home schedule, on Thursday, April 16, with a matchup against the Seattle Kraken at 8:30 p.m. MT. The Stanley Cup schedule will follow shortly after though it has yet to be officially announced.
"Unlike years past with an NHL All-Star Break or Four Nations Faceoff break, NHL players will head to the Olympics in Italy. Several Avalanche players are likely to feature for their countries. Hence, no Avs games will take place between February 5 and February 24." -Liu
The television broadcast schedule will be released at a later date. Given how entertaining the Avalanche have been, fans can likely expect a few more nationally televised games this season.
