The Colorado Avalanche are set to face the divisional rival Utah Mammoth in their home opener for the upcoming 2025-26 NHL season.
For the third straight year, the Avalanche will
begin their season with a road trip out west against the Los Angeles Kings.
Avalanche announce massive news for next season.
The Avalanche are set to host the Mammoth at Ball Arena on October 9th, with puck drop scheduled for 7 p.m. The rest of the 2025-26 NHL schedule will be unveiled today at around 11 a.m. MT.
Earlier this week, the NHL unveiled that Colorado will take part in the league's season-opening triple-header on October 7. The Avalanche will open their 2025-26 campaign against the Kings, with puck drop set for 8:30 p.m. MT. The game will be broadcast on ESPN in the United States, and on Sportsnet and TVA Sports in Canada.
Nathan MacKinnon is entering his 13th season with the Avalanche, and there's still uncertainty surrounding how
Gabriel Landeskog's body will hold up over the grind of a full season. Whatever moves GM Chris MacFarland has left to make will need to count.
Considering the jump Utah made last season, don't be surprised if the Mammoth give the Avalanche are run for their money in the Central Division next season.
