Gabriel Landeskog is set to make his return to the Colorado Avalanche's lineup for the Stanley Cup playoffs, and Nathan MacKinnon just had a surprising admission amidst his return.

It's unclear whether or not he is going to be good for game one or not, but what is clear, is that Gabriel Landeskog is going to make a return to the Colorado Avalanche lineup at some point during the first round.
After their first practice together following Landeskog's conditioning stint in the American Hockey League with the Colorado Eagles, Nathan MacKinnon had a surprising admission regarding the captain.
Landeskog has not played an NHL game since the Avalanche won the Stanley Cup in 2022. What he's done over the past couple of weeks are huge steps towards making a return to the NHL.
After going down with his knee injury, Landeskog has gone through multiple surgeries including a cartilage replacement surgery on his knee, and it's a procedure that is often considered career-ending, but Landy is defying the odds.
Now he is preparing to make his official return to the NHL and set to join the Avalanche in their run for another Stanley Cup.

Nathan MacKinnon's Surprising Admission On Gabriel Landeskog

Because he hasn't played an NHL game in nearly three years, there is expected to be some struggles from Landeskog early on, but Nathan MacKinnon doesn't believe there are going to be:
«It doesn't mean anything, he's Gabe Landeskog at the end of the day,» Avalanche star Nathan MacKinnon firmly stated, per DNVR Avalanche on X. «Obviously, there's going to be some rust, three years is a crazy amount of time off. He hasn't really been practicing that much, either.

«We've just been so busy, there's been no practice which is too bad for him. But, I think he looks great. You can still see those instincts [in game situations] are there. He's still got it, for sure.»

Game one for the Avalanche-Stars matchup begins on Saturday night, and it's still to be decided if Landeskog will be playing or not.
