Former Colorado Avalanche defenseman speaks out on being mistreated following recent trade

According to recent reports, Calvin de Haan was given a minute to speak regarding the end of his season with the New York Rangers, and theveteran wasted no time to express his frustration.

De Haan's has been scratched for 19 games, and has been a regular scratch in the lineup with Zac Jones. Like Jones, he was vocal about his frustration with his mistreatment, and felt he wasn't getting treated fairly in New York.

It's a reasonable concern for a journeyman in the NHL who has played for multiple teams during his career, including the Colorado Avalanche. But since joining the Rangers he's only played three games.

Now, after he let loose in the presence of The Athletic's Peter Baugh and the New York Post's Mollie Walker, he has walked back his comments.

Honestly, he's not wrong in how he's approached the situation. In the short time he's been with the team, he's contributed with an assist and been a role player in one of the team's wins, although the way he talks, he's trying to remain humble.

If only Rangers GM Chris Drury and Peter Laviolette had a clear vision of what the team should look like and play like, maybe this wouldn't be happening to both veteran and sophomore players.
