As the 2025-26 NHL season approaches, the Colorado Avalanche have once again surprised fans by making another wave of roster cuts, adding fresh intrigue to how the team's opening night lineup will ultimately take shape.

The Avalanche announced more roster cuts following their 4-2 preseason victory against the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday night.

As the Avalanche approach the start of a new season, the team has made several key roster cuts during training camp.
Wyatt Aamodt, Danil Gushchin, Maros Jedlicka, and Mark Senden have been reassigned to the AHL Colorado Eagles.
Mathis Langevin was reassigned to his junior club of Rimouski of the QMJHL.
Earlier in the training camp, the Avalanche also reassigned defensemen Saige Weinstein, Hank Kempf, and Connor Kelley to Eagles.
In addition, they also reassigned Christian Humphreys to the OHL's Kitchener Rangers, while Max Curran (Edmonton, WHL) and Linus Funck (London, OHL) were returned to their junior teams to continue their development.
The Avalanche have now faced 51 players on their camp roster and will return to the ice Wednesday night for their fifth scheduled preseason game at T-Mobile Arena against the Vegas Golden Knights. Colorado's current preseason roster now sits at 29.
The Avalanche remain flawless in their preseason, maintaining a perfect 4-0 record so far.
As the Avalanche near the end of preseason, the team has shown flashes of chemistry, skill, and depth that hint at an exciting season with a real shot of capturing another Stanley Cup championship.
