Major development: The Colorado Avalanche promote captain Gabriel Landeskog ahead of Game-4

The Colorado Avalanche will face the Dallas Stars tonight at 7:30 PM, as Game 4 is set to take place at Ball Arena.

The Dallas Stars own the series lead, 2-1, after they won in OT in Ball Arena, leaving the Avalanche's power-play empty-handed that night.

The team will see Gabriel Landeskog take a bigger spot in the lineup, as he's flanking Brock Nelson, on the left, and to the right. Forward Valeri Nichushkin.

Tucker Poolman and Ross Colton remain on IR.

Poolman has been placed on LTIR due to migraines and won't be available. Colton has been on IR since April 20, 2025, due to an upper-body injury.

Miles Wood and Jimmy Vesey round out the forward core as extras.

Landeskog rounds out a very deep forward core, as he played a total of 13:16 TOI during his return to NHL ice. While he didn't score a point, he made sure to let Mikko Rantanen know he was there with a nice, legal check.

The ColoradoAvalanche will need their deep lineup to score by committee if they're to overcome their foes, the Dallas Stars.

As it stands now, the Stars have control over the series with a lead of 2-1, as the physicality of the lineup is overpowering the Avalanche.

Ahead of Game 4, it looks as if the Avalanche has decided to change up the power-play in hopes of improving its success rate.

PP1: Makar-MacKinnon-Necas-Landeskog-Lehkonen will round out the first unit. Which looks considerably different than the same unit which had Jonathan Drouin prominently featured in the ranks.
