Longtime Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog made his long-awaited return to the ice on Wednesday during 3, and he's now came forward with a revelation about his comeback that made it all worth it.

After many years away en route to recover for an NHL comeback, what a way to make your season debut during a high intensity playoff matchup.
Despite Landeskog's Avalanche taking a 2-1 overtime loss, he was quite pleased with his experience.
«It was amazing,» Landeskog said. «I don't know. I'm just blessed and very fortunate to be in a position to feel those feelings and to feel I don't know really what exactly was going through my body and mind at that time, but it was pretty special. I mean, that's a memory for life, simple as that.
He stated
There was one specific aspect to his return that was the most important of them all, and that was his kids being there to witness him lace them up.

"That was as close I got to losing it during warmups, when I looked over at them and seeing their big smiling faces. It was very special."
Landeskog's kids were 1 and 2 years of age the last time he played, meaning their memory of 'Dad' playing in the NHL was very faint, the Captain even stated they probably think he's been lying this whole time about his hockey career.
«That was as close as I got to losing it, during warmup, when I looked over at them and [saw] their big smiling faces, so it was very special,» Landeskog said. «They've probably been thinking that I've been lying this whole time, that I didn't play hockey. I really do.

«But yeah, you know, they were 1 and 2 when I last played, and now they're 5 and 4, and they're growing up, and we've got another one on the way coming this summer. Yeah, it just puts it in perspective how much time has passed, I guess.»
Landeskog and his Avalanche group look to tie the series up on Saturday, April 26th for a 9:30 p.m puck drop.
