The new linemates for former Colorado Avalanche star forward Jonathan Drouin have finally been unveiled as he gears up for his first NHL season with the New York Islanders, sparking excitement about how this fresh lineup could impact the team's performance.

On July 1, 2025, Drouin opted to enter free agency and eventually agreed to a two-year deal with the Islanders, valued at $4 million per year.

Jonathan Drouin's new linemates exposed ahead of next season.

Gabriel Sami from All Habs writes that the former Avalanche forward is projected to skate on the top line alongside Bo Horvat and Kyle Palmieri, under the guidance of coach Patrick Roy.
Drouin has had nothing but great things to say after signing his new contract with New York.
"Every guy I've talked to loved the Island, loved the area to live, the restaurants, the suburbs and everything. Obviously they have a brand new rink, that's appealing as well. Same thing for practice rink. So every kind of little factor was encouraging for me I heard only good things, so I'm excited and should be a good spot." -Drouin
After playing six seasons with the Montreal Canadiens, Drouin signed with the Avalanche in the summer of 2023 as a free agent, reuniting with his close friend and former Halifax Mooseheads teammate, Nathan MacKinnon.
"In 79 games, Drouin recorded 19 goals and 56 points. The following year, injuries once again sidelined him, limiting him to just 43 games in which he collected 11 goals and 37 points." -Sami

Daily Faceoff projections indicate that Drouin is set to skate on the top line of his new team, likely joining forces with Horvat and Palmieri unless adjustments are made.
