Colorado Eagles get shutout in Game 1 of AHL Pacific Final

Abbotsford's forward Ty Mueller and defenseman Vincent Mancini were the goal scorers for the Canucks.

Trent Miller was fairly strong in the Eagles' net, finishing with 22 saves on 23 shots. Colorado was also held 0-3 on the power play, while Abbotsford managed to capitalize on one of their two powe plays on the night.

During their second power play of the evening, the Abbotsford Canucks broke the scoreless tie when Ty Mueller positioned himself between the faceoff circles, received a pass, and swiftly fired the puck into the net. This marked Mueller's inaugural goal of the postseason, putting Abbotsford ahead 1-0 at 15:25 of the second period.

Trailing 1-0 as the third period began, the Colorado Eagles struggled to break through Abbotsford's goaltender, Arturs Silovs, who continued his strong performance. Despite a late power play opportunity, the Eagles couldn't capitalize. In the final seconds, with the net empty, the Canucks' Victor Mancini sealed the game with an empty-net goal, securing a 2-1 victory and giving Abbotsford a 1-0 lead in the series.

This season, the Colorado Eagles and Abbotsford Canucks finished first and second in their division, but Abbotsford proved to be a tough matchup for Colorado. The Canucks won six of the eight head-to-head games and narrowly defeated the Eagles 2-1 in their most recent meeting on February 17.
