The Colorado Avalanche were toying around with fans leading up to game 2 after it was originally announced that captain Gabriel Landeskog was set to return.
Gabriel Landeskog ended up taking warmups with the Colorado Avalanche, and was originally on the Avalanche's lineup sheet, but it was announced just moments before puck drop that he was not going to be playing.
GABRIEL LANDESKOG IS TAKING NHL WARMUPS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 3 YEARS 🚨
Just hours before the game, the Colorado Avalanche completed a move with Gabriel Landeskog by taking him off of Injury Reserve. After participating in warmups with the Colorado Avalanche, everyone believed that it was finally happening, and he was making his return to the lineup.
This was not the case, and after warmups the Colorado Avalanche revealed their official lineup, and Landeskog was listed as a scratch.
It's been flip-flopped. Landeskog is now scratched with Wood in the lineup.
Meaning he will likely be making his debut in game 3 when the Colorado Avalanche take the series back home.
The Avalanche have a lot of stars, and fire power, but they still have not been able to bring another Stanley Cup to Denver.
They have not been able to reach the Finals since they last won the Stanley Cup in 2022, making Landeskogs return even more important.
