Since then, he's played only 18 games in Colorado, scored 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist), and is now nursing an injury.
According to Head Coach
Jared Bednar, his current injury status is day-to-day.
Lindgren has been dealing with an upper-body injury that is keeping him out of the lineup and didn't travel with the team for their two-day road trip.
Lindgren suffered the injury Tuesday against the Golden Knights. The defenseman has four goals and 18 assists across 72 appearances with Colorado and the Rangers this season.
Tough news for an Avalanche team that has had to rely on call-ups while their veterans remain out of the lineup nursing injuries.
This is another instance of Lindgren being out of the lineup for longer than he'd like, as he missed significant time in New York this season, dealing with a broken jaw.
There's a possibility
Ryan Lindgren will return to the lineup in time for Game 1 of the playoffs on April 19th.
The New York Rangers retained 50% of Lindgren's salary, and he will be a pending UFA when the season concludes.
Will his performance in the playoffs earn him a new contract with the Avalanche? We'll have to find out.
For now, this is another obstacle Lindgren will have to deal with before he can suit up again.
