A major conflict surfaces regarding Colorado Avalanche's game-one starting goaltender
Things are starting to heat up amongst the Colorado Avalanche organization as the 2025 NHL Playoffs near.
Following the Colorado Avalanche recent game against the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday evening, head coach Jared Bednar called out his starting goaltender after losing 5-4.
Within the Colorado Avalanche last 10 games they have gone 5-for-5, resulting in Jared Bednar to take issues with the way his goaltenders have been playing, especially with
Mackenzie Blackwood.
Jared Bednar calls out Blackwoods recent performance
Following another loss today, Jared Bednar took exception with Mackenzie Blackwood and stated he feels that he performance has declined since he joined the organization.
«I think he hasn't played as good as he did when he first got here, so he's got to hone in on his game here quickly. I still have a lot of confidence in him.»
Bednar on Mackenzie Blackwood.
Bit of a surprise considering Blackwood hasn't been the worst all season as he has posted a .913 save percentage along with a 2.33 GAA, throughout 36 starts this season (22W, 12L, 3OT).
The Colorado Avalanche only have one more game remaining of the season, which will be against the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday night at 8:00PM MT.
So this is certainly something head coach Jared Bednar needed to address as it was just finally confirmed that the Avalanche will be facing the Dallas Stars during the first round.
