According to reports, the Boston Bruins came close to finalizing a massive blockbuster trade to acquire Minnesota Wild superstar Kirill Kaprizov, a move that would have major implications for the Colorado Avalanche, one of his fiercest competitors.

Bruce Raymond from Bruins Insider writes that recently, a statement surfaced revealing that the Boston Bruins nearly added an elite forward to their roster.
It was unveiled that the team had a potential opportunity to acquire Kaprizov during the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.
Back in 2015, the Boston Bruins traded a fifth-round pick to the Minnesota Wild in exchange for a 2016 fifth-round selection. That very pick ultimately allowed the Wild to select Kaprizov, who has since become the NHL's highest-paid player.
