The Colorado Avalanche are making significant changes to their lineup with a series of final roster moves as they prepare to open the 2025-26 NHL season tomorrow night against the Los Angeles Kings, giving fans a first glimpse at the team that will take the ice for the highly anticipated season opener.
The Avalanche reduced their roster by eight players on Monday,
finalizing the lineup that will kick-off the franchises 30th season.

The Avalanche announced today that the following players have been sent to the Colorado Eagles' AHL training camp.
Aarif Deen from Colorado Hockey Now writes recent waiver claim
Ilya Solovyov, a rookie left-shot defenseman with limited NHL experience, begins the season on the non-roster list. He is expected to step in for Ahcan once his visa status is finalized.
The other rookie is a bit more unexpected.
Gavin Brindley, who just turned 21 on Sunday, will be among the 13 forwards available for opening night on Tuesday.

As for the goalies, Blackwood participated in the full-team skate for the first time since training camp started. However, his movement was somewhat limited, and he left the ice early.
"Blackwood won't travel to L.A. for Tuesday's opener. He'll stay back with goalie coach Jussi Parkkila to continue to work towards a return, which Bednar has stressed should be soon." -Deen
The Avalanche will kick off their season Tuesday night on the road against Los Angeles, with puck drop set for 8:30 p.m. MT.
