Avalanche pull off shocking blockbuster trade with Sharks for rising young star

The Colorado Avalanche completed a major blockbuster trade with the San Jose Sharks, acquiring promising young forward Danil Gushchin in exchange for 2021 first-round pick Oskar Olausson.
At 22 years old, Olausson spent most of last season playing with the AHL's Colorado Eagles.

NHL.com reports that
Gushchin, 23, has played in 182 AHL games with the San Jose Barracudas, amassing 150 points (70 goals, 80 assists). He also has 18 NHL games under his belt with the Sharks, registering five points (two goals, three assists).
The 5-foot-8, 165-pound winger from Yekaterinburg, Russia was a third-round pick (76th overall) by San Jose in the 2020 NHL Draft.
Going the other way is Olausson, who in 61 AHL games with the Eagles, recorded 26 points (11 goals, 15 assists) with 26 penalty minutes. He also appeared in two games for the Avalanche.
He ranked ninth on the team in goals. In the Calder Cup Playoffs, Olausson appeared in seven games, recording three assists.
Internationally, Olausson represented Team Sweden at the 2021 and 2022 World Junior Championships, helping the squad earn a bronze medal in 2022 after posting five points in seven games.
The 6-foot-2, 181-pound winger from Stockholm was selected by the Avalanche with the 28th overall pick in the first round of the 2021 NHL Draft.
Perhaps a change of scenery will do good for both young talents. Only time will tell!
