Penguins general manager addressed Sidney Crosby trade rumours.
Nick Horwat from Breakaway On Si writes that after missing the playoffs for three consecutive years, the Penguins appear to be trending downward, and many fans across the hockey world are eager to see Crosby join a new team.
Numerous pundits and analysts also believe he might be better off in a different environment, yet Crosby has consistently remained loyal to the Penguins, regardless of the circumstances.
"Despite his continued loyalty, baseless rumors and speculation continue to run rampant regarding a possible trade involving Crosby." -Horwat
Penguins president and GM Kyle Dubas was promptly questioned about the frequent trade rumours surrounding Crosby.
On the Cam and Strick Podcast, Dubas said he believes that no matter what he says, people will continue to hold their own opinions and spread whatever speculation they choose.
«It seems to be its own subgenre of hockey journalism. You could address it and it's only going to fester on.» -Dubas
Earlier in the podcast, Dubas praised Crosby, highlighting his dedication and strong work ethic.
«It was very clear that everything he does is relentlessly focused on getting the best out of the Pittsburgh Penguins and out of himself. Every single thing he is focused on is winning.» -Dubas
Crosby is determined to win and may not be finding much success in Pittsburgh, but he believes he still has time in his career to make one final run at the Stanley Cup.
