Former Colorado Avalanche first-round pick Tyson Jost has officially found a new home in the NHL, being claimed off waivers by the Nashville Predators on Wednesday.

Jost was placed on waivers by the Carolina Hurricanes earlier in the week.

Tyson Jost has officially found himself a new home in the NHL.

Over the past five days, more than 100 NHL players have been placed on waivers, with many assigned to the AHL as teams trim their rosters ahead of the 2025-26 regular season.
While there's been some intriguing veterans like Nicolas Aube-Kubel and others placed on waivers, to this point, there's been no major shockers, with some teams waiting patiently to see if there's going to be some big names available to claim for free.
Now, less than 24 hours of being placed on the waiver waire, the former 10th overall pick from the 2016 NHL Entry Draft has officially been claimed by the Nashville Predators.
Last year with Carolina, Jost tallied 4 goals and 9 points in 39 games played with the 'Canes, but with the 27-year old also playing 14 games in the AHL, he was always going to be a waiver candidate this summer.
In 495 career contests, the former first-rounder owns 61 goals and 88 assists for 149 points.
Now with the Nashville Predators, Jost has a chance to turn the page and write a new chapter in his career, one that could finally see him reach the potential many envisioned when he first entered the NHL.
