Perfetti is expected to miss the start of the 2025-26 season, as the Winnipeg Jets forward will be sidelined week-to-week due to an ankle sprain.

Hunter Crowther from Daily Faceoff writes that the 23-year-old Cole Perfetti appeared to sustain the injury during the Jets' preseason matchup against the Calgary Flames last Friday.
After delivering a hit on Flames defenseman
Kevin Bahl in the second period, Perfetti seemed to land awkwardly and did not return to the game.
Perfetti set career highs last season with 18 goals and 32 assists for 50 points. Over five NHL seasons, the Whitby, Ont., native has totalled 47 goals and 78 assists for 125 points in 222 games.
"He also has three goals and three assists for six points in 14 career Stanley Cup Playoff games.
Perfetti has one year remaining on a two-year, $6.5 million contract signed ahead of the 2024-25 season, earning $3.25 million." -Crowther
The Jets finished the 2024-25 season with a 56-22-4 record and 116 points, capturing the Central Division title and the Presidents' Trophy for the best regular-season record in the NHL.
They defeated the St. Louis Blues in the first round of the playoffs but fell to the Dallas Stars in six games in the second round.
