Even after losing game three, a massive announcement was made regarding Colorado Avalanche's goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood.

Although the Colorado Avalanche may be down 2-1 in the series to the Dallas Stars, they are not gonna go away without a fight, especially after they just recently got their captain in Gabriel Landeskog back during game three.
Series' are seven games for a reason, and even though they are down right now they could easily make it a 2-2 game before heading back to Dallas on Saturday night when the two teams face off for game four.

Massive Announcement regarding Mackenzie Blackwood

Blackwood has easily been the Colorado Avalanche's best player so far in the first round despite being down 2-1. According to moneypuck.com, Blackwood is leading all goaltenders in the playoffs right now with a 4.4 goals saved above expected.
He was added to the team early in the season, back in December when the Avalanche combined with the San Jose Sharks in a trade to acquire him and he has yet to disappoint.
In 37 regular season appearances after the trade, Blackwood picked up a 22-12-3 record with a .913 save percentage and 2.33 goals against average.

Blackwood has been huge for the Avalanche making 84 saves on 91 total shots faced in the series.
He has a .923 save percentage and is hoping for some offensive more offensive help.

After winning game one, the Avalanche have yet to be able to win another game, but Blackwood has stood on his head in every game, giving the Avs a chance to win every game.
The Avalanche stomped the Stars in Game 1 with a 5-1 win, Blackwood made 23 saves on 24 shots. The Stars took Games 2 and 3 in overtime, with Blackwood making 35 and 26 saves respectively.

MacKinnon has been carrying the Avalanche scoring three goals in as many games, but the depth the Avalanche acquired at the NHL trade deadline has yet to show up.
Game 4 is taking place on Saturday night when the Avalanche look to even the series.
