The Colorado Avalanche may look to sign lesser-known free agents this summer to complete their roster for the upcoming season.

Following their disappointing playoff exit , the Avalanche will need to address roster gaps this summer as they aim to enter next season as a serious Stanley Cup contender.

With that in mind, here are three free-agents forwards that the Avalanche could pursue to help bolster their core.
Nestor Quixtan from Mile High Sticking writes that Jack Roslovic is a solid goal scorer who is currently playing in the Eastern Conference Final for the Carolina Hurricanes against the defending Stanley Cup champs Florida Panthers.
"Roslovic has done a great job as the Hurricanes' second-line center this season, putting up 22 goals and 39 points in 81 games during the regular season. Plus, he's playing on a relatively cheap contract at $2.8 million for this season." -Quixtan

The Avalanche may look to add a bottom-six winger this offseason if Joel Kirivanta and/or Jimmy Vesey leave in free agency.
Kasperi Kapanen could easily serve as a valuable bottom-six forward to help complete Colorado's lineup. If the Avalanche can sign him at a similar $1 million cap hit, bringing him in would be a sensible move for the upcoming season.
Quixtan also writes that Gabriel Landeskog's return complicates the Avalanche's salary cap situation for the upcoming season. In recent years, the team benefited from having $7 milliom in LTIR space available, but that flexibility will no longer be an option.
"That situation means the Avalanche will have to pinch pennies to round out the roster. That's why I'm proposing the Avalanche kick the tires on Robby Fabbri." -Quixtan

Admittedly, Fabbri is something of a long shot, but he might be worth a gamble given that the Avalanche will need to maximize every dollar of cap space this coming season.
