The American Hockey League Made Issued A Huge Announcement Regarding Colorado Avalanche's Captain
Colorado Avalanche's Gabe Landeskog made his AHL debut recently and would earn three stars after last night's Eagles game.
Last night,
Gabe Landeskog played his first professional hockey game in three years since winning the Stanley Cup with the Colorado Avalanche.
He'd post 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) for the Colorado Eagles as he's begun his conditioning stint in the AHL.
He'd contribute an assist early in the game and would deflect a shot on the power-play into the net, giving the Eagles a shot to win the game 3-3 afterward.
Landeskog would earn three stars for his performance in his first game back against the Henderson Silver Knights.
He'd issue a statement post-game on how he's feeling:
"Physically, I feel great,» Landeskog said Friday of his return. «It's the first game in a long time so I've got plenty of things to work on and get better at but, yeah, it was a lot of fun.»
There's no telling when he'll rejoin the
Avalanche on home ice, but this is a promising start, scoring 2 points in one game against one of the best teams in the Pacific.
When Landeskog last played for the Avs, he posted 59 points (30 goals, 29 assists) in 51 games in 2021-2022.
During the team's run to the Stanley Cup, he'd add 22 points (11 goals, 11 assists) when the team defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning.
For all of us now, it's a matter of patience before we see him suit up for the
Avalanche again.
