Report suggests Flames are set to keep former Avalanche standout barring one shocking twist

A new report suggests the Calgary Flames are expected to keep former Colorado Avalanche standout Nazem Kadri in the fold, unless a surprising twist emerges that forces the team to reconsider.
Kadri's name has been involved in multiple trade rumours throughout the entire offseason.

Antonio Losada from Athlon Sports writes that Flames center has been a frequent name in trade rumours this summer, but NHL analyst Jim Biringer believes a move is unlikely, noting on TSN 690 Tuesday that the team isn't expected to part ways with their alternative captain anytime soon.
«I mean, do I see there's a fit? Yes, I think it's a good fit for the Montreal Canadiens. Do I think it's going to happen? No. Calgary had 96 points last year. They got as many points as you could without getting into the playoffs. They want to continue to improve.» -Biringer
However, Biringer did note that the Flames could consider moving Kadri if, and only if, a blockbuster return came their way.

Biringer stressed that Calgary still sees itself in the playoff mix, making it highly unlikely they'd sacrifice their top center and risk weakening one of their strongest positions.
