A report has Colorado Avalanche fans in disbelief after former forward Kiefer Sherwood was named the Vancouver Canucks' unsung hero after a breakout season.
Sherwood finally seemed to have found his stride after his 7th NHL season, with his fourth different team.

Izzy Cheung from Yahoo Sports writes that capping off a season filled with personal bests, Canucks forward Kiefer Sherwood was voted the team's unsung hero by the fans. It marked his first team award, but if he keeps up this level of play, it likely won't be his last.
Since signing with the Canucks in July of last year, Sherwood has quickly won over fans with his relentless physical play and nonstop effort on both the forecheck and backcheck.
He first caught the attention of Vancouver supporters as a standout for the Nashville Predators during the first round of the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs, consistently ranking among their top performers over the six-game series. Since joining the Canucks, Sherwood's impact has only continued to grow.

In 78 games this season, Sherwood has tallied 19 goals and 21 assists, all career highs. He also notched his first career hat trick in December against the Colorado Avalanche.
Perhaps most impressively, he lead the entire NHL with 462. On March 22, he set a new league record for most hits in a single season, landing his 384th against the New York Rangers.
