The Detroit Red Wings are reportedly closing in on a surprising blockbuster trade that would bring former Colorado Avalanche first-round pick Bowen Byram to Detroit, marking a significant move for both franchises.
Former Avalanche defenseman Bowen Byram could be on the move again this offseason.

The proposed trade would send Bowen Byram to the Red Wings in exchange for Jonatan Berggrem,
Andrew Copp and a second-round draft-pick in 2026.
The deal provides the Red Wings with the defensive upgrade they've been seeking, while giving the Sabres a top-six forward along with a promising young prospect who could make an impact in the top nine.
David Pagnotta reports that even after signing a two-year, $6.25 million extension, Byram remains a leading candidate to be traded.
