Peter Forsberg officially makes his long-awaited return with the Avalanche

Avalanche legend Peter Forsberg will officially make his long-awaited return to Colorado for an Alumni game, ending months of anticipation and delighting fans eager to see the franchise icon back with the organizations.
With the Avalanche set to face the DU Pioneers in the upcoming Alumni game at
Magness Arena on August 24, several franchise legends have returned to town, bringing excitement and nostalgia for fans.
Peter Forsberg is officially returning to Colorado.
Aarif Deen from Colorado Hockey Now writes that the two-time Stanley Cup champion, Olympic gold medalist, 2003 Hart Trophy winner, and Hockey Hall of Famer will take the ice on Sunday, joining Milan Hejduk and Steven Reinprecht as part of the Avalanche alumni squad.

The festivities begin at 3 pm. with a pre-game festival outside Magness Arena, leading up to a scheduled puck drop at 5 pm.
The Avalanche will also open the preseason against the Utah Mammoth with a special game at 2:30 pm on September 21 at Magness Arena. Later that day, the teams will face off again in a split-squad matchup at Ball Arena, with puck drop scheduled for 6:30 pm.
Forsberg's return to Colorado is a reminder of his lasting legacy with the Avalanche, giving fans a chance to celebrate one of the franchise's most iconic players once again.
His presence at the event underscores his enduring connection to the Avalanche's and the city that cheered him through every iconic moment of his storied career.
