Former Denver Broncos quarterback John Elway's agent, Jeff Sperbeck, died as a result of a golf cart accident.

John Elway's former Agent, Jeff Sperbeck, was a friend and business partner to the former Broncos quarterback.
It was reported today that the former agent for the two-time Super Bowl Champion died in a golf cart accident in California.
An investigation into the incident by Denver7 has turned up sources that informed the news channel that Elway was behind the wheel when it happened.
Sperbeck happened to fall off the golf cart when Elway was behind the wheel around 7 PM on Saturday at the La Quinta, Calif. golf course.
Sperbeck would have to be taken to the Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, where he'd remain on life support until his passing at 1 AM on Wednesday morning.
The former NFL Agent and Elway's business partner died at the age of 62.
In a statement obtained by ESPN, John Elway said, «I am absolutely devastated and heartbroken by the passing of my close friend, business partner and agent Jeff Sperbeck. There are no words to truly express the profound sadness I feel with the sudden loss of someone who has meant so much to me. My heart and deepest sympathies go out to Jeff's wife, Cori; his children Carly, Sam and Jackson; and everyone who knew and loved him. Jeff will be deeply missed for the loyalty, wisdom, friendship and love he brought into my life and the lives of so many others.»

The Riverside County Sheriff's Office learned of the incident on Monday, according to Denver7. It has begun an investigation into Sperbeck's death.
Sperbeck was his former agent and would later take over Elway's business activities after his playing career was over.
according to Sperbeck's biography on the website for 7Cellars winery, which the pair started together in 2013. He represented more than 100 NFL players over three decades as an NFL agent, according to the site.

Elway is a two-time Super Bowl Champion and made nine Pro Bowls during his 16-year NFL career. He'd earn the NFL MVP during the 1987 season. He'd serve as GM of the Broncos from 2013-2020.
