Major altercation reported between Avalanches Nathan MacKinnon and Charlie Coyle

On Monday, April 28, the Colorado Avalanche took on the Dallas Stars for their Game 5 in the first-round of their playoff series, and not only did the game end in an unfortunate loss, 6-2, two Avalanche players also were seen in a pretty heated altercation.

Before the completion of their fifth game of the series, the Avalanche were tied in their first-round against the Dallas Stars, 2-2, so needless to say, the stakes were higher than ever, and you could see that on the reaction of Colorado's fan-favourited Nathan MacKinnon, as he evidently called out his teammate.

In the second period of Monday's game with 15 minutes left on the clock, Colorado's MacKinnon seemingly confronted his teammate, Charlie Coyle, due to a failed power play.

You could see the tension between the two following this pretty heated altercation, and although it is unknown what remarks were made within that argument, it is evident on MacKinnon's face that he was definitely not pleased, yet Coyle seemed to be unfazed and smiling just after the discussion.

The game ultimately concluded in a brutal loss, leaving the Avalanche trailing behind the Stars, 2-3, in the series and as the team takes on Game 6 tonight, Thursday May 1, we can hope that Colorado can make up for their unfortunate game and that both MacKinnon and Coyle have made amends.
