A recent development suggests that the Colorado Avalanche could be targeting top free agent forward Robbi Fabbri as they look to strengthen their roster ahead of the upcoming NHL season.
Avalanche reportedly interested in signing Robbi Fabbri.
Michael DeRosa from NHL Trade Rumors writes that Fabbri remains one of the most notable unrestricted free agents available this offseason, following a season where he tallied eight goals and 16 points in 44 games with the Anaheim Ducks.
Although Fabbri faced some challenges during the 2024-25, his previous success makes it likely that at least one team will offer him a professional tryout opportunity ahead of training camp.
"The Avalanche could be an interesting landing spot for a player like Fabbri. It is clear that they could use more secondary offensive production in their bottom six, and Fabbri could provide them with just that if he bounced back. Thus, he could be an interesting player for them to take a chance on, whether that is through a cheap one-year deal or PTO." -DeRosa
Following the trades of
Charlie Coyle and
Miles Wood to the Columbus Blue Jackets, the Avalanche now have approximately $6.5 million in cap space to work with.
Most of the top unrestricted free agents have already signed, but like several other teams, the Colorado Avalanche are still exploring options to round out their roster and make the most of their remaining cap space as a new season approaches.
